How is the Covid-19 pandemic situation in your country? Some countries may have managed to get through the pandemic situation and have designated it as endemic. In the Philippines, the Covid-19 prevention campaign is still being carried out, especially for children as the school activities are back offline there. Therefore, the Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Health (DOH), together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the national Bida Kid Covid-19 prevention campaign on 5 April 2022, and the implementation was started on 8 April 2022.
Quoted from U.S. Embassy in the Philippines to support the safe expansion of face-to-face classes nationwide, the Bida Kid campaign encourages learners, teachers, and education stakeholders to keep practicing Covid-19 health and safety guidelines in schools and public spaces. Sourced from the USAID’s site to follow up on the BIDA Solusyon (Be the Solution) COVID-19 prevention multimedia campaign, the Bida Kid campaign reminds everyone to continue observing COVID-19 prevention measures as children return to school and people resume in-person activities.
This campaign highlights the 3Bs concepts (in Filipino), namely Bakuna (Vaccination), Bayanihan (Solidarity), and Bida behaviors (Bestfriend natin ang masks, Memories at hugasan ang kamay, Dumistansya upang makaiwas sa sick, Airflow ay panatilihin, which means wear masks, observe hand washing and social distancing to avoid getting sick, and maintain room airflow).
Schools in the Philippines are currently colored with the music video, jingle, key visuals, and the Bida kits as an effort to further amplify the campaign’s messages. DepEd Philippines has also spread a Twibbonize frame as a part of this campaign.

As the frame spread out through any digital platform and social media, this effort is expected to promote and disseminate health reminders to students, parents, and the community by bringing the campaign’s message that highlight the 3Bs.
According to the latest DepEd field report, as of March 28, around 13,692 public and private schools are conducting in-person classes. It’s said that the school activities wouldn’t be back offline without the country’s Resbakuna Kids campaign where about 10 million children got vaccinated.
Quoted from the USAID’s site, it’s the U.S. government’s priority to assist the Philippines in its COVID-19 response. It’s also mentioned that the United States has provided more than Php1.9 billion ($39 million) and donated more than 33 million doses of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines through the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) facility to support the Philippines’ COVID-19 response and accelerate vaccination for priority populations.
