In July 1971, six of the Trucial States, such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ajman, and Fujairah agreed on a Federal Constitution for achieving independence as the United Arab Emirates. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has unanimously approved the UAE’s National Day on December 2 will be celebrated worldwide as an International Day in the future.
